KAMELOT Guitarist Discusses Upcoming Tour
September 13, 2005KAMELOT's official web site has been updated with part one of a brand-new interview with the band's mainman, guitarist Thomas Youngblood, about the group's upcoming North American tour. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:
Q: Many fans have been waiting for [a chance to see KAMELOT perform live]. Can you tell me something about the shows and why you decided on them to be so select?
Thomas: "Well, the band is selling better now in the U.S. and that is the opening for more shows and promoters to bring a band in. The first show is a local one here in the Tampa area. We played this venue four years ago and it's a cool place with a great stage. We have been getting email from fans from South America, California and the Southeast states planning to attend as well. So we are happy that fans are willing to travel for the band, and the beach."
Q: You mentioned that the show in Virginia has a special meaning. Can you elaborate?
Thomas: "The show at Jaxx is special since I lived in D.C. for three years and I am looking forward to meeting some old and few friends. I also was born in Richmond, Virginia and lived part of my childhood there. So there is a sense of home when I visit Virginia/DC area."
Q: What's planned for more shows? You recently joined up with Continental Concerts, they are a big booker here in Europe. That is great news for all KAMELOT fans.
Thomas: "Yes, we met with them a year ago and now they have some room for another band. We are looking forward to more festivals and opportunities everywhere there are KAMELOT fans. We are heading to Brazil in December, we are hoping for a full week of shows there. The fans there are crazy, in a good way! So we cannot wait to play some classic songs for our friends down there. We are aslo looking at Mexico, Belgium and maybe France. Nothing is confirmed yet. But we are shooting for another trip to Europe in February 2006."
